Kris Shannon is the Director of Education and Training at Avelo, bringing more than 20 years of experience in diving, instruction, and expedition operations. His background includes cave exploration and scientific sampling with the Cambrian Foundation, extensive work in the Floridan Aquifer and the Yucatán, and serving on the opening team for Discovery Cove’s Grand Reef and SeaVenture Dive Program, where he helped safely manage over 100 dives per day. A NAUI Lifetime Instructor Member (#55256), Kris is a Course Director, First Aid Examiner, Freediving Examiner, and Technical Diving Instructor, and is passionate about developing divers and educators at every level.
